MISSIONS

We seek to empower ministry locally, nationally, and internationally through mission partnerships. Through those partnerships we provide opportunities to the members of Christ United to engage in changing the world by spending their time in service with those partner organizations. We encourage everyone to get involved in one or more of the following ways:

  • Pray for the missions we sponsor and our mission teams

  • Give to Christ United Missions Fund to support missions here and around the world

  • Serve on one of our teams or by contacting one of our supported agencies

Change the World Service Events

Volunteer alongside others in service with local ministry opportunities. We emphasize projects that are family-friendly and involve a wide variety of skills and abilities so that everyone can participate. If you have Christ United apparel, please wear it. If you don’t, feel free to purchase a shirt if you’d like. For upcoming events, please contact Mike Gaby or call 251.342.0462.

McKemie Place | Saturday, February 14 | 8:30 a.m. - Noon

The women’s homeless shelter at 618 Azalea Road needs help repairing a wooden fence and removing fallen limbs and brush following recent high winds. Many hands will make this work easier. If you have access to a large trailer for hauling brush or a tractor with a bucket please let me know. Work gloves suggested.

Feeding the Gulf Coast | Wednesday February 18 | 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

We will help to sort donated food items at 5348 Mobile S. Street in Theodore. This is an indoor, climate controlled, warehouse where we will be working with bins of donated non-perishable foods to inspect them for damage, check expiration dates, and separate them by item type so that they can be distributed to clients in need of food. Although it is primarily a standing and light walking job, it doesn’t require any heavy lifting and it’s fun working as a team. Closed-toed shoes required.

Homeless Shelter Support Collection

Wednesday, February 25 – Sunday, March 15 | Sanctuary and Recreation Gathering Areas
