The Rev. Dr. Robert G. (Rob) Couch began his appointment as Lead Pastor of Christ United Church on July 1, 2016. Rob and his wife Crystal have three children (David, Ethan, and Ella). He received his Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology and a Doctor of Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary. Rob served as an Associate Pastor at Christ United from 2000 to 2005. Rob is passionate about the church sharing the love of Christ in the community. In addition, Rob is a denominational leader serving as the Chair of the Conference Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry and as an Alternate Jurisdictional Delegate. Throughout his career he has served at Christ United, Saraland UMC, and has come to us from First UMC in Prattville, Alabama.

Brian Hasty, Teaching Pastor

Rev. Brian Hasty joined the team at Christ United on July 1, 2020. Brian is grateful to be married to Cassidy and have two awesome children Isaac and Adelyn. As a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in music education, Brian served as a youth minister and worship leader for 14 years before answering God’s call to pastoral ministry. Brian graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary earning a Master of Divinity in 2023. Brian wants people to know and be transformed by God's love in order that they love others and be launched into ministry to change the world.

Shaun Kaulfers, Pastoral Care Pastor

Rev. Shaun Kaulfers was appointed to Christ United on August 15, 2017, after serving at Crawford United Methodist Church. Shaun is married to his wonderful wife Anne-Marie and they have an incredible son Matthew. Shaun graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary with a Masters of Theological Studies and worked in higher education administration/adjunct teaching before joining the pastorate. As the Pastoral Care Pastor, Shaun wants everyone to know that they have value and are loved... loved by God, through Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit and loved by the body of Christ of Christ United.

Rob Blackwell, Administrator

Rob’s experience includes almost 35 years in church administration and business. He sees active church administration as a means of more efficiently and effectively using the church's resources to further its ministry goals, and is grateful to have the opportunity to serve Christ in his role at Christ United. Rob graduated with a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from the College of William and Mary. His wife Ellen is the Director of College Counseling at Bayside Academy. They have been married for over 35 years and have three grown children: Austin, Taylor and Sarah.

Brad Boland, Director of Ministries

Brad leverages more than 25 years of ministry experience to facilitate ministry and program development with Ministry Leaders and Volunteers. Brad graduated with a B.A. degree from Asbury University and an M.S. degree in Leadership from Southwestern University. His wife, Nicole, works with the Mobile County Public School System as a School Counselor and they have one daughter, Addison. Brad enjoys photography, music and keeping up with technology trends.
