A Real Christmas in a Fairytale World
Sundays, November 27 – December 18 | 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. | Sanctuary and NewSong or Watch Live Online
A fairytale Christmas is not a universal picture. Each of us has our own idea of what the picture would look like. For some, the tale would contain glistening snowflakes that turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. For others, streets and homes filled with the twinkle of lights would create a magical winter wonderland. Others would include tales filled with scenes of family gathering around the Christmas tree, singing carols, and sipping on cups overflowing with marshmallows and hot chocolate. So, if we asked you to close your eyes and think about Christmas, what scenes would come to mind? Would they be filled with the fairytale you hope to experience this Christmas, or would they be the real moments we inevitably encounter each year: the burnt turkeys, missing our family, sick children, and the heat of southern Alabama. So, this Christmas, let us remind ourselves that the hope, joy, peace, and love found in those picture-perfect fairytales can still be found in the real-world moments of Christmas.
